Wining the first prize of $100 were Danilo Gilber and Emil Gammad for their rendition of “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars.
Ray Barcinas, who sang “Seabreeze,” won the $75 second prize while Chris King who performed a Michael Jackson dance medley and won $50 for placing third.
JC Café manager Lot G. Bunao said this Saturday evening, the Showtime Challenge is “Rock What You’ve Got!”
It will be the last monthly finals.
The grand finals, the Battle of the Champions, will be held on July 9, Bunao said. Prizes at stake will be $250, $100 and $50 for the top three placers.
“As early as today, we are urging everybody to come and watch your local talents showcase what they’ve got, and have a good time with us,” Bunao said.
JC Café’s Showtime Challenge became an instant hit after the first competition in February. Following its success, Bunao said they decided to hold monthly contests until July to discover local talents, entertain the community and create events that will draw more tourists to the island.
