DPW apologizes to public for any inconvenience

He said the project will be completed within this year.

“Please expect some level of inconveniences and delays as these road construction progresses,” he said.

He said the Department of Public Works is working to better serve the transportation needs of the CNMI.

The road improvement project along Route 31, also known as Isa Drive, consists of three phases, he said.

Phase I, under Hawaiian Rock Product, starts from San Vicente-Dandan and ends near the CUC Super blue tank in Papago. Sablan said it will be completed by the  middle of November this year.

Phase II, undertaken by GPPC Inc., is a transition from the end of Phase I and ends after the Mobil gas station near the Kagman road intersection.

The completion of Phase II is expected late this year, Sablan said.

Phase II-B, which transitions from the end of Phase II-A and ends near Esco’s Bakery on Talofofo Road, will start before the end of 2011, he said.

The road improvement project is funded by the Federal Highway Aid and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
