Coordinators Jasylene Parico, Tina Tenorio, and Charlene Valle said the CNMI’s most influential individuals were invited to read a book or two to the children.
Parico said the children often look up to their elders for guidance and example.
“What better way to bring in the most influential people our island has to offer,” Parico added. “The children are excited and have expressed more excitement when they come across a guest they recognize from the newspaper or on TV. OES invited principals, police officers, a news anchor and many more.”
Parico said “Reading With the Stars” is an annual event and stirs up positive feedback among the guests themselves and parents alike.
