The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture allocates only 20 stalls for food vendors, and 65 booths for arts and crafts, available at a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration fees for CCAC registered artists is $50; $150 for new or non-CCAC registered artists; $1,600 for private and commercial vendors; $600 for non-profit organizations who are also allowed to sell local merchandise; and $250 for information booths.
Overall committee chairman Parker Y. Yobei said they had to increase some of the rates this year to help defray a portion of the expenses for the celebration.
“With the local government’s limited finances, we would need the community’s cooperation and support to make this momentous event a successful one,” Yobei said in a statement.
This year, he added, they will highlight local arts and crafts. Imported materials can be used as long as all the finished products are created here on island.
This year’s theme is “Flame Tree Arts Festival: Celebrating 30 years of Uniting Cultures and Traditions.”
“This year’s theme is a fitting reflection of our distinct community. The Arts Council promotes all artists, no matter where they come from,” CCAC executive director Angel S. Hocog said.
