The lawmakers, under secret ballot, voted 7 to 3 to confirm Frank Haregaichig as director of the Department of Resources and Development.
Subsequently, they voted 3 to 7 to reject Al Ruwema’s nomination as director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation.
Of the seven nominations submitted by Gov. Sebastian Anefal, the legislature has acted to confirm one and denied approval to three.
The other three pending nominations for considerations are for Department of Youth and Civic Affairs director, Department of Education director, and the attorney general. Nomination to head the Department of Health Services has yet to be submitted.
