NMC president cultivates leadership skills for professionals

(NMC) — The Saipan Chamber of Commerce held its 3rd Quarter Professional Development as facilitated by the Northern Marianas College’s Community Development Institute and led by NMC President Galvin Deleon Guerrero, EdD.

This training focused on strategic leadership and effective management, where participants were equipped with the essential skills for effective team management, strategic leadership, and improved managerial capabilities.

About 50 participants included representatives from various government, private, and non-profit sector companies, such as the CNMI Department of Finance, Department of Commerce, Naked Fish Bar & Grill, Island Training Solutions, Paradise Dental Spa, Assurance Brokers, Inc. (Saipan) dba AB Risk Solutions, Younis Art Studio Inc., PIC, Micronesian Brokers (CNMI), Inc., D&Q Saipan, and NMTech.

Key topics from the training included actionable insights for team management, strategies for addressing communication challenges, managing conflicts, enhancing managerial and leadership skills, and how to apply these skills in the workplace to make positive, professional impacts.

“It was a privilege to collaborate with the Chamber and work with such an esteemed group of business leaders and public servants,” said Dr. Deleon Guerrero. “I was particularly honored to help them better serve our community through a proven and research-based framework for strategic leadership. And, we had a lot of fun.”
