Pikaboo is back!

SHANE “Pikaboo” Alvarez of Trench Tech defeated Guam Muay Thai’s Isaac “Tiger Heart” Crisostomo via unanimous decision in the main event of the Ring of Fire 2 at the Garapan Central Park on Saturday.

Their kickboxing match was the best show of the night as Pikaboo and the Tiger Heart exchanged blows throughout all three rounds.

The first round had both fighters finding their reach and testing their strength, but it was Alvarez that set the tempo with quick precision shots to the head and body.

The second round was where the action intensified. Both fighters landed blows that wowed the crowd. Shane executed body blows and slipped counter shots while Crisostomo took in each shot and attacked with blows of his own.

Crisostomo received more hits, but he acknowledged them by a head nod and asked for more to showcase his iron chin.

As the round progressed, both fighters started to show fatigue.

However, Alvarez maintained his speed as he constantly chopped down Crisostomo’s left leg, dropping him to score a knockdown and maintaining the upper hand.

In the third and final round, Crisostomo gave his all as he unleashed head kicks and uppercuts off the clinch break. During the 10-second warning bell, he exchanged blows with Alvarez to end the main event with a bang.

It all came down to the judges’ score cards with Alvarez edging Crisostomo, 30-27, to win the match via unanimous decision.

In an interview, Alvarez said right before the fight, “I was just in my zone ready to go and vibing with the fans, excited to perform for them after being out of the game for a long time!” He added, “I’m happy with my performance considering I’m still a bit out of shape and this is the heaviest I’ve ever fought at! Rocking the dad ‘bod’ on Father’s Day! I had to fight smart and make sure I didn’t tire myself out.”

Alvarez said Crisostomo is “very durable and handles my power shots really well. I landed some good shots to the face and big body shots, but he kept pushing forward! Definitely had a blast with him there!”

He said it “feels so good to be back in action and perform for Saipan and I can’t wait to do it again! The fans were lit as always, and all the fights were action-packed! Definitely an epic show to start the summer off and it was a great turnout! Super fun!”

Alvarez said ROF 2 was a very successful event. “The event was a great success and that atmosphere of all the fighters throwing down and the fans going crazy is like no other!”

The rest of the results will be featured in Variety’s next edition.
