Woman charged for allegedly filing false documents

THE Attorney General’s Office yesterday filed criminal charges against a woman who allegedly filed false documents with the Department of Labor and Immigration two years ago.

Dina Sevillano Centino, a.k.a. Dina Caro Centino, Dina Centino Norita, and Dina Caro Centeno, was charged with two counts of immigration fraud and one count of perjury. Centino was summoned to appear and answer the charges in Superior Court on May 20.

According to Assistant Attorney General James Benedetto, when Centino was applying for an entry permit on July 28, 2000, she “knowingly subscribed as true an untrue statement in her application for entry permit.”

Benedetto further alleged that the defendant stated she had never been granted a CNMI entry permit before. Benedetto alleged that the defendant lied.

“The defendant took a legal substitute for an oath before a competent tribunal, officer, or person, by declaring that her written statements were true, under penalty of perjury, and then willfully and contrary to her declaration under penalty of perjury subscribed as true that she had never been granted a CNMI entry permit before when she did not believe that information to be true,” he said.
