“As a certified personal trainer and functional fitness class instructor for six years now, I continue to learn about the purpose of training,” he said. “Using myself as a ‘guinea pig,’ I’ve experienced how age, the environment and mental health affect our daily lives.”
Diaz said fitness training has been his sanctuary from stress.
“Our mind and body need to be recharged and rebuilt. This is when a combination of fitness, nutrition, and recovery is essential so we can become the best version of ourselves,” he added.
Diaz provides individuals with fitness nutrition programs for performance enhancement.
His goal is to help each person perform at a higher level whether he or she is an athlete, a parent, a doctor, a soldier, a teacher or a business owner.
To avoid injuries, Diaz recommends “quality movements.” He also teaches his clients how to acquire a mindset that can make their goals a reality.
“As a certified fitness trainer, I’ve learned that the focus is not about how I want them to get there. Or how to make them follow my way of training. What I do is explain why a certain program can enhance their daily living experience,” Diaz said.
“My clients and I meet halfway as I encourage, motivate and build around their present fitness level to create an atmosphere of open and honest communication. I want them to build a positive habitual practice that will result in an independent training approach.”
Diaz said optimal training focuses on strength, speed, endurance and performance enhancement which requires balance, agility and plyometrics.
There is a “vast array of exercise opportunities to explore,” he said. “Our focus is to perform movements that are efficient.”
Diaz said these movements can be performed at home. “So throwing the trash is no longer a hassle. Planting is now fun. Cleaning the yard takes minimal effort. And spending time with family to cook meals or go out for beach day is not an inconvenience.”
Diaz said it is all about efficiency and functionality with a purpose, and that starts with having a positive mindset.
