The Tigers lost by forfeit when they ran short of one player to fill the field. Only eight showed up at the Francisco M. Palacios Baseball Field for both the Tigers and Rock Steady’s last game of the regular season.
With all the players and members of the coaching team of Rock Steady already in their dug out at 6:30 pm., as scheduled, the Tigers still lacked at least one player to go on with the game.
They were expecting short stop veteran, Reno Celis who also failed to show up prompting the committee to declare Rocky Steady winner by forfeiture.
Rocky Steady will be waiting for whoever wins between D-Niners and Korean Dreams who will meet in the two remaining regular season games this month.
D-Niners who have five wins and seven lost and the Korean Dreams who won seven times and lose six times are vying for the fourth place before either of them can play Rock Steady in the playoff series.
Second placer, Falcons and third placer Rangers will play in the best of three, while Rock Steady will take on fourth placer team to advance to the championship game.
Rock Steady routed Korean Dreams during last Monday’s game, 15-4, with Tom Manibusan hitting two RBIs driving brothers Toi and Roy Celis home to score runs.
Toi Celis himself had one RBI driving Dane Lizama to score a run. He also scored three runs and went 2-for5.
Luis Iguel went 2-for-5 and scored four runs, and Eric Lizama finished 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Tim Mafnas pitched into the sixth inning, gave up five strike outs and allowed five hits and three runs.
