According to Don Bukurrou, the leagues’ commissioner, “unscheduled rain just had to drop Saturday night and early Sunday morning, which dampened the playing field; and made it unplayable.”Bukurrou said, “even though the players are waterproof and could perform just about anywhere, their safety is a priority that cannot be compromised.”He further added that the best performance of any player is most notable when conditions are their optimum – where failure can’t be blamed on anything else but individual performance on the field. The Conference Title games amongst ECSL and WCSL teams from Ngarchelong, Ngaraard, Ngiwal, Ngardmau, Ngaremlengui, and Ngatpang will be played this Sunday, June 15th, at Ngarchelong Baseball Field. The games will begin at 10:00 a.m.Bukurrou, on behalf of both leagues organizers, apologizes to the teams – and their fans – which did not make it to the Conference Title games for having to push their regular scheduled games forward.“Mother Nature just can’t be scheduled and we must bend to her whims,” he said, “the regular season games will be pushed forward to allow for the completion of the Conference Title games. I know that the non-participating teams and their fans are anxious to begin the second round of the leagues; and I apologize for having to push their scheduled games to another weekend.”Non-participating teams and their fans are more than welcome to come to the Conference Title games and cheer for teams from their leagues, Bukurrou added.
