Each voucher was worth $35 which the recipients used to buy food and other basic necessities, he added.
The recipients are among the families who need help, region chair Annamae Adaza said.
“It is a challenge for any group to offer donations due to the strict guidelines on social distancing, but if there’s a will there’s a way,” Mayuga said, adding that they observed all the safety protocols when they distributed the vouchers.
Zone 1 chair Al Cabael, for his part, said it was rewarding to see the recipients appreciate the Lions’ efforts. “Seeing the recipients smile is so rewarding, but we are also praying that this global crisis will be over soon,” he added.
Zone 2 chair Argie Buensalido said they are happy to extend assistance to the less fortunate.
The Lions Club International District 204 Region 2 also thanked Bhiya Canadalla of Happy Market and Mildred Pabilando of LN Market for their assistance.
