AGAPE Christian School bagged their second consecutive win in the girls high school division of the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Volleyball League by defeating Mount Carmel School in two sets Tuesday at the Marianas High School gym.
ACS consists of Jiahui “Jessica” Chen, Jiamei “Lucy” Hong, Yilin “Elim” Huang, Aiyuan “Emma” Pang, Miaozhuo “Barbara” Wang, Zining “Sunny” Wang, Meijia “Esther” Zhao, and Ruishi “Mary” Zhu. Working as a team, they covered their ground well and returned with proper force and spike finishes.
In the first set, ACS was in clear control as they left no opening for MCS to strike, wining with ease, 21-6.
In the second set, MCS started creating better scoring opportunities to put their opponents on their toes. But ACS continued to deliver with better offense and defense to seal the deal, 21-16.
Other games
Saipan Southern High School bested Marianas High School in three sets.
MHS claimed the first set, 21-18, but SSHS returned fire in the second set with a late-game rally, 21-19, and clinched the third and final set to claim victory, 15-6.
Saipan International School also went the distance to defeat Kagman High School, 21-6, 19-21, 15-6.
