Ol’ Aces wins FMI Championship in 3-minute game

Mariana Islands First Intercolor Basketball Tournament, beating Advance X-Terminator, 124-110 last night at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.

While Ol Aces during offensive kept the ball around as long as possible, the X-Terminators killed the time by committing fouls deliberately in a hope to have a turn over.

This however worked for Ol’ Aces as Fred Pelisamen who was fouled most of the time inched his way to victory by basketing five of his seven free throws. He also continued firing two-point shots.

Jericho Cruz who invested in two-pointers during the earlier part of the game last week, also finished the task with three free throw shots.

Jun Estolas did not do much due to ankle injury during last week’s game when he scored 11 points, his lowest in the entire tournament.

Pelisamen who scored a total 49 points in the interrupted game is the FMI caging’s MVP. He scored over 50 points in previous games.

Best in scoring for the regular season is Jericho Cruz and the best coach award went to Sonny Flores.

GEC Pawnshop won the championship title for the Mastes Division.

The Masters Division MVP award went GEC’s Sahnee Rañola and the best scoring award, to CTSI’s Ariel Jinang.
