Remengesau named Judge Richard Benson as part time associate justice of the country’s Supreme Court.
Benson in accepting the appointment said that “I am deeply grateful to you for this high honor and will do my best to fulfill the obligations coming with the position.”Benson said that he is looking forward to working in Palau.“If I may borrow from your words, I am aware of the long and proud tradition of the Palau Judiciary and will do all I can to assure its continuance,” Benson said.Remengesau has been using part-time judges who sit in the court.
