Students fix KagHS electrical problem

“We had a problem in our network system, especially with our wired connection,” he said. “Our principal let my students work on it.”

According to Ladringan, his students figured out how the wiring connections worked.

He said because of the students’ skills the school was able to save costs on electrical work.

Ladringan said he appreciates KagHS principal Alfred Ada’s trust and confidence in the students’ abilities.

The students installed RJ-45 cables in all classrooms and set up wireless routers for the entire school.

Ladringan’s basic electronic class has 48 students, and a majority of them are in the ninth grade.

Every year, he said, the number of his students increases.

“Everybody owns an electronic device like cell phones and wireless computers,” he added. “Learning the basics of electronics will help students solve basic problems like cable connection. These students can also assist their families in fixing minor wiring problems at home resulting in some financial savings.”

Ladringan said since the island’s power supply is unstable, he also teaches his students how to use improvised tools at home.

“My objective is to follow the standards of [the Public School System] and help the students if they would like to take an engineering course after they finish high school,” he added.
