TEAM Tomodachi has won the 2023 Roccball Championship games held at the Marianas High School Gym for the second time in two years. Team Tomodachi defeated the players of Nakama in the best two out of three game series for their back-to-back title.
Tomodachi defeated team Nakama in the first game 47 to 32 and won the Roccball Championship Title in the second game with a 44 to 31 win. In their two games of competition there were a total of 27 two-point aces, 5 two-point xunks, 4 two-point backcourt kees, and 4 three-point goals scored in addition to the one-point floor scores.
Team Tomodachi’s total score for two games was 91 points. Of those points scored, 68% were of Roccball’s multiple point scoring techniques. Team Nakama scored a total of 63 points in the playoff games and scored 65% in the multiple point scoring methods. Tomodachi scored 29 one-point court plays, and Team Nakama scored 35 one-point court plays.
A major difference and an important factor between game points between Tomodachi and Nakama were the team’s players skills in the scoring the aces, xunks, kees, and goals of Roccball’s team net sport scoring system. The “Heavy Hitter” of the championship games was Juruel Magatales of team Tomodachi with 5 aces, 2 xunks, and 2 goals.
