NED Norita won the Amigos Golf Club’s two-day 2023 January Ace of the Month tournament with a net score of 138 on Jan. 22, Sunday, at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course.
On day 1, held on Jan. 15, Sunday, Norita cleared 18 holes with a gross score of 68. With a handicap of 5, his net score was 63.
On day 2, he struggled as the wind played a major factor, shooting a gross of 80 and a net of 75 thanks to his 5 handicap.
With a combined net score of 138, Norita still led the pack by three strokes to bag the January Ace of the Month title.
In second place was Ben Pelisamen who shot a gross of 80 on day 1. With a handicap of 9 his net score was 71. He slightly improved his game on day 2 with a gross of 79 and a net of 70 for a net total of 141.
Coming in third was Ben Jones Sr. who shot a net of 74 and 68 on both days for a combined net score of 142.
In the optional play, the Par 3 winners were Ben Jones Sr. on holes #3 and #13; Domingo Atalig, hole #7; and Frank Sablan, hole #17.
Each won $150 per hole.
The Amigos also welcomed three new members: Francis Mendiola, Lamarc Iguel and Eric Mandell. In addition, after a year-long absence, Dan Quitugua has rejoined the club.
