Hotel director sues woman who hit his car

Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino managing director Alfred Yue and Hong Kong Entertainment (Overseas) Investments Ltd. filed the complaint against Tomoko Kawakata.

The plaintiff, through attorney G. Anthony Long, is asking the court to award him damages for bodily and personal injury he suffered for an amount to be proved at trial, damages for property damages suffered by Hong Kong Entertainment (Overseas) Investments, costs of suit including reasonable attorney’s fees, and other relief as the court may deem just and proper.

According to the plaintiff, on Oct. 17, 2006, the defendant was driving her vehicle on Saipan when she stuck the vehicle Yue was operating.

The plaintiff said the defendant had the duty to operate her vehicle in a prudent and non-negligent manner but she “negligently operated her vehicle,” which was the proximate cause for the collision with the vehicle operated by Yue.

The collision caused the plaintiff to suffer bodily harm and injury, and physical injury.

The plaintiff also said that the collision resulted in Hong Kong Entertainment (Overseas) Investments’ vehicle sustaining damage.

The court has summoned the defendant to file her answer within 20 days.

Failure to file an answer to the summons may result in a judgment by default.
