David van Over, chairman/CEO of Synergy Power Corp. based in Reno, Nevada, will conduct the presentation, which is expected to be attended by members of the Senate and House.
The energy firm earlier submitted a proposal to Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and Commonwealth Utilities Corp. Executive Director Antonio Muna, and expressed willingness to help the CNMI generate power.
The firm is offering supply and investment projects involving wind turbines.
It intends to supply the islands with wind turbine models that can generate up to 50 megawatts of electricity.
Synergy Power Corp. is a manufacturer and dealer of electricity through Eyas Power Fund LLC.
Van Over said his company wants to “invest its own money to set up and operate an assembly and tower manufacturing plant which will be a model of sustainable manufacturing and will be in compliance with all relevant… standards.”
The proposed plant will be fully powered by renewable energy sources, including wind and solar energy, and the annual orders from the plant are expected to exceed $10 million.
He said the Synergy turbine is “the most cost-effective wind turbine on the market and has the ability and a proven track record to bring locally produced, reliable and economically viable electricity to the CNMI.”
