Ninth Circuit Chief Judge Alex Kozinski issued the general designation order on Dec. 3, 2008.
Wiseman’s designation started on Jan. 1 and will end on Dec. 31, 2009.
Wiseman said he is pleased with his seventh consecutive appointment as designated judge for the federal court.
“I appreciate the confidence placed in me by Chief Judge Kozinski and by U.S. District Court Judge Alex Munson,” Wiseman said.
He said he welcomes the opportunity to continue serving the people of the CNMI in his role as designated federal judge as well as an associate judge of the CNMI Superior Court.
“I will endeavor to continue to serve in both capacities with honor and distinction,” Wiseman said.
A resident of the islands since 1977, Wiseman, in March 2001, became the 15th judge to sit on the CNMI Superior Court since the inception of the commonwealth.
He also served as special judge from 1995-2001.
