Isechal thanks Guam Gov. Camacho, Guam Legislature

“As Peleliu State’s Delegate in the National Congress of the Republic of Palau, I want to personally extend my gratitude to you for assisting the Peleliu Club of Guam in securing a site.”

Isechal in his letter added that the lease agreement will permit the club to continue to serve the people of Peleliu in Guam.“The Peleliu club has a long history in Guam, having been established shortly after World War II. In half century since then, the Peleliu Club, a non-profit organization, has promoted Palauan culture and created a community for people from Palau who moved to your island to pursue opportunities, “Isechal said.THE Peleliu Club association in Guam will launch a fundraising to build a traditional meeting house or “Abai”. The membership of the club was organized in the 1950s when Guam became their home.The fundraising will be held on April 18, 2009, at Lemai café.Tickets will be sold at $10 while door admission cost $20.During the event, guests will be entertained by traditional Palauan dancers and singers.The club will also be offering a grand prize of a round-trip ticket to Palau sponsored by Continental Airlines.In Palau, the contact persons for the tickets are Loretta Wong, Judge Uduch Sengebau Senior and Del. Isechal.For Guam, the contact persons for tickets are Nina Kilad Callaghan amd Mesengei Diaz.Last year the Guam Legislature passed a bill which approved the lease agreement between Guam and the Peleliu Club for the land in which the abai will be built.The structure will be erected on Dededo, Guam and the club was given a 25-year lease.The land is over 20,500 square feet.
