US Navy’s Jack Lummus fell in love with Palau

The ship arrived on April 16 from Saipan and left Palau yesterday morning.

The ship sail back to Guam and will stay there for a week then go back to Saipan.It’s the ship’s first time to Palau and the crews fell in love with the beauty of the place, according to the chip’s captain, Captain Richard Horne.Horne said there are about a total of 60 crews on board the Jack Lummus.The ship’s Commodore Captain Richard Daniel in a separate interview said that the purpose of the visit is to survey Palau if it is suitable for a 30 days anchor ship.“We came to make a survey if Palau is suitable for a permanent anchor ship so we’re here to see what the weather condition is like, what is Palau is like,” Captain Daniel said.It’s the second time for Captain Daniel in Palau. He said he was here in August.He and Horne said Palau is a beautiful place and they are both looking forward to be back soon.Jack Lummus is a floating warehouse according to Daniel.The ship contains combat equipment and they are task to unload the equipments it in case marine needs it for war.The ship has no permanent base and stays anywhere in Western Pacific but they spent most of their time in Guam and Saipan.The ship is a Maritime preposition ship.
