Tinian GOP completes slate

Tinian GOP Chairman Ed Shai, in an interview, said the party finalized its slate last month.

Former Sen. Ray M. Dela Cruz is running for Tinian mayor, former councilman Trenton B. Conner is seeking a House seat and Francisco Q. Cruz, chairman of the municipal council, is teaming up with Hofschneider in the Senate race.

Shai said GOP slate on Tinian will bring the change that the island’s voters have been waiting “for so long.”

Conner, he said, is a strong yet an open-minded leader.

Dela Cruz who has always been a Republican will make an ideal mayor who has a strong political will, Shai added.

Hofschneider and Cruz will push an agenda of change in the Legislature, Shai said.

“We hope that the people who have already realized the need for change will make good choices this time,” he added.

He believes that the people of Tinian see the need to have a leadership that will truly and properly represent them.

Shai said the Tinian Republican candidates will always be in touch with the people.

The GOP slate is running against the Covenant ticket of Mayor Jose P. San Nicolas, Sen. Joseph M. Mendiola, senatorial candidate Joaquin H. Borja and Rep. Edwin P. Aldan.
