Although there are areas that are already getting 24-hour water service water hours may vary during dry season, Iglecias said.
Base on his 2008 water delivery per region report, those region with 24-hour water service are As Matuis, Lower Base, Tanapag, As Mahetog, As Teo,, Puerto Rico, Gualo Rai, Kagman, areas behind the San Vicente Elementary School, Kagman subdivision, Kannat Tabla, Finasisu, Chalan Kanoa, Susupe and Airport area.
This year, Iglecias said, the San Rogue area continue to get water from 4:45 a.m. to 7 a.m. but CUC is anticipating a change in water rationing after the completion of the water line interconnection and the construction of a water well at As Matuis.
“We are expecting to complete the project by September this year,” he told Variety.
Only two-hour of water supply scheduled everyday in Lower Gualo Rai from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. but Iglecias said CUC is now looking for more water sources to increase the water supply in the area.
The Papago area is getting water from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. only every Monday and Friday, he said, adding that CUC already completed the water storage facility but is yet to install new water lines and water treatment station.
The water rationing in Upper San Vicente is scheduled from 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. while 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. at South San Vicente. Iglecias said the problem can only be addressed if they can find new sources of water. “There’s a need to install new pipelines in the area.”
He said CUC is still looking for sufficient funds to pursue the project in some areas with maximum two-hour water supply.
These include the Chalan Laulau, South Garapan, Beach Road Chalan Laulau, San Jose, Achugao, Capitol Hill, Wireless., Talofofo, Garapan, Northern Garapan, Navy Hill, Chinatown, sugar King and Chalan Galaide.
“Our goal is to have 24-hour water supply,” Iglecias said but “that depends upon the availability of fund.”
