In a directive to Ngiraingas, the president said that one of the most important sector which is the taxi service sector has been ignored over the years.
“As you are well aware, the tourism industry has become known as our bread and butter industry. As such, it is the government’s responsibility to take the necessary measures to enhance, develop and improve government services in an effort to assist the private sector in the growth of this industry,” Toribiong said.The president said that this sector has long lobbied numerous government officials for the designation of taxi areas.He said in his directive to Ngiraingas that he should meet with Charles Obichang, Director of the Bureau of Aviation and Minister Faustina Marugg to provide a designated parking lane to accommodate at least two vehicles at the time at the airport and the museum.He said that the parking space shall have a “taxi” painted on the pavement with a clearly visible sign identifying the area.
