DFS honors employees of the month
(DFS) — DFS Saipan Ltd. recently recognized Antonia Medina and Stanislaus Manmog as January employees of the month.
Medina was recommended by her boss, Leilanie Betevua, team leader in luxury department-airport.
Medina knows her merchandise well and takes care of her department in an excellent way.
Medina was hired in Feb. 1988.
Manmog was nominated by Emilia Taitano, team leader, candy/liquor/tobacco-airport.
Manmog is a very dependable employee, and he always helps on the sales floor when they need a hand, even beyond his work area as a stock handler.
He has been with DFS since April 1999.
Both employees received a framed employee of the month certificate, a $100 cash award, and have lunch with the DFS Saipan general manager. They are now eligible candidates for the 2010 DFS Employee of the Year Award in their categories.

‘A Father’s Hand’
HAGÅTÑA — A local writer will launch a book written for the passion of his son and the sons of Guam at the Guam Premier Outlets in Tamuning on March 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Michael San Nicolas, author of “A Father’s Hand,” will launch his book with the help of Professor Leah Beth Naholowaa’s Advertising and Integrated and Marketing class at the University of Guam’s School of Business and Public Administration.

Red flag at 6 Saipan sites
(DEQ) — The Division of Environmental Quality says water samples collected from Central Repair Shop, DPW Channel Bridge, S. Puerto Rico Dump, American Memorial Park, Garapan Fishing Dock and Garapan Beach contained excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria that exceeded the CNMI’s marine water quality standards.
DEQ has given these locations a red flag and advises the public not to fish or swim within 300 feet of these locations for the next 48 hours or until otherwise notified.
NMC Alumni Association mixer
(NMC) — The Northern Marianas College Alumni Association will be hosting a mixer meeting at the Seaside Bar & Grill at the Pacific Islands Club on Thursday, March 11, from 5 to 7 p.m.
