Arrested were Julian Aribuk, 20; Ronald Ngoriakl, 18; Pison Lukas, 18 and one 17-year-old man.
Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said that Aribuk was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and for illegal consumption of alcohol.An incident of a fight involving several individuals by the Palau Pacific Resort was reported to the police on May 28 at 12:40 am.Police responded and apprehended Aribuk later for various offenses.The 17-year-old juvenile was arrested for grand larceny, malicious mischief and illegal consumption of alcohol.Aguon said that on May 27 at 10:50 pm, a man called police and reported that the juvenile damaged his vehicle and stole his CD player.The incident occurred in Ngerbeched.Ngoriakl was arrested for DUI and reckless driving and illegal consumption of alcohol after a brief chase with the authorities early Thursday morning in Ngerkesoaol.Aguon said police called on May 28 at 1:45 am and reported that they were on hot pursuit of a car heading towards Topside for possible DUI and reckless driving offenses.The vehicle was later cornered in Ngerkesoaol, Hamlet and the driver who was later identified as Ngoriakl was later subjected for sobriety test and breathalyzer test.Ngoriakl failed the test.Lukas was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol at the Emmaus High School compound on May 26 at 4 pm.Aguon would like to remind the public to be careful and to avoid driving when under the influence of alcohol.He said sobriety check points will continue to track down drunk drivers and they also activated the youth crime prevention task force to help monitor illegal consumption of alcohol incidents.He also reminded the club owners that inspection of the establishments is still ongoing to ensure that the establishments are in compliance of the law.
