Delta airlines flight to Palau begins Dec. 22

Minister of Public Infrastructure, Trade and Industries Jackson Ngiraingas announced that the airline will be flying to Palau via Narita, Japan four times weekly.

The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) approved the application of the airline to start new nonstop service between its Tokyo, Japan hub and Palau.

The flight will be operated with 216-seat Boeing 767-300 ER aircraft, with 35 BusinessElite seats and 181 seats in Economy.

Delta currently operates flights from Nagoya (Centrair) to Detroit, Guam, Saipan and Manila.

The planned flight is in addition to new international chartered flights scheduled to fly to Palau this year.

Korean Air, the largest airline and flag carrier of South Korea begun its twice –weekly flight to the country in July.

Two carriers meanwhile from the Philippines also intend to fly to Palau- these are Zest Air and Spirit of Manila.

Two airlines based in Taiwan and Hong Kong are also servicing the Palau route this year.

Malaysian airline is also scheduled to fly to the country this year.

Continental Airlines, a United States based carrier flies regularly to Palau.

Coninental Micronesia offers direct service to Koror via connections through Guam and Philippines.

Other airlines currently offering service to and from Palau are Japan Air Lines with charter flights from Tokyo ; China Airlines with charter flights from Taipei, Taiwan; Asiana Airlines from Korea .
