Joaquin Flores, President and CEO of Freedom Air met on Tuesday with Public Infrastructure, Industries and Commerce Minister Jackson Ngiraingas to inform the government of the company’s intention to make their presence known in Palau.
Flores said they are eyeing operating flights to Peleliu and Angaur using a seven-seater aircraft.
“Palau is in our definite plan and we want to have our presence known in Palau, Flores told Ngiraingas during the meeting.
Flores said, Freedom Air is not new to Palau, he said it has serviced the country in the 1980’s.
He said that the domestic route will be scheduled before Christmas.
Freedom Air is also joining forces with Hong Kong based World Aviation Incorporated Ltd to form Fly Guam an international carrier to begin services from Guam to major Asian cities at the end of 2010.
Flores said that the Fly Guam eyes Dec. as flight operation and it has route to Taipei, mainland China, Japan, Seoul, Manila and Guam.
Fly Guam will begin operations with two Boeing aircraft 737-300 with seating capacity of 112 economy class seats and 12 business class seats.
Its headquarters is located in Guam’s Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport.[2]
The airline operates scheduled FAR part 121 passenger service between Guam, Rota and Saipan utilizing a 30 seat Shorts 360 aircraft. Part 135 operations serve the Saipan-Tinian route utilizing Piper Cherokee aircraft. They are also available for air tours from Saipan. It also operates cargo services utilizing a Shorts 330 cargo conversion aircraft.[citation needed]
