FORMER CNMI Veterans Affairs Office Executive Officer Stanley Iakopo attended an anti-terrorism training course at the Andersen Air Force Air Base on Guam.
Former CNMI Veterans Affairs Office Executive Officer Stanley Iakopo with Andersen Air Force Base Anti-terrorism program manager Patrick Glasscock.
Held in the first week of November, the course aimed to equip anti-terrorism officers with skills and knowledge needed to serve as advisers to commanders and provide anti-terrorism awareness training to their organizations.
The training was conducted by Andersen Air Force Base Anti-terrorism program manager Patrick Glasscock.
“I learned to do vulnerability assessments, how to write anti-terrorism plans, and go through the regulations so that I know how to set Random Anti-Terrorism Measures or RAMS,” Iakopo said.
An Air Force veteran and an Air Force Reservist, he is responsible for building and maintaining an organization’s anti-terrorism program, creating public awareness and constantly evaluating their programs’ strengths and weaknesses to increase effectiveness.
“In today’s climate, terrorism [is] organized to penetrate open societies and to turn the power of modern technologies against us — the threat is global, multi-faceted and real,” Iakopo said.
