French Polynesia decolonization resolution to go to court

They say the process used to adopt the resolution, which calls on France to re-inscribe the territory on the United Nations decolonization list, was flawed.

They say the assembly president, Jacqui Drollet, refused to give speaking time to all those wishing to debate the resolution and that he declared a winning tally of 31 without counting all votes properly.

The opposition also says the government has no mandate to approve such a resolution as it has not asked the population.
