Adachi, in an interview, said that in behalf of his colleagues they were very glad that “someone has paid back their credit.”
It can be recalled that the GA paid courtesy visit with the House of Delegates (HOD) to air their concerns regarding the proposed 25 percent cut.
Adachi said that they met with the Delegates as they were the one who are handling the budget.
On Wednesday the HOD passed on third and final reading a proposed budget of $58, 369,000.
The HOD increased the FY 2011 budget to $4 million more from original proposal of $54.2 million saying that the economy and local revenues collection looks upbeat next year.
Included on their proposed additional budget is the restoration of the proposed 25 percent slash on the state block grants.
Adachi said that he is hoping that this bill will also approve by the Senate.
Gov. Steven Salii of Angaur State, for his part also lauded the HOD.
He said that the Delegates did the right thing on the reinstatement of the 25 percent reduction.
In line with this, the GA will conduct its regular meeting today at the Koror State Assembly Hall. The meeting will commence at 10 a.m.
