99 Cents sues Plumeria Hotel

A GARAPAN store sued Plumeria Resort for allegedly issuing unfunded checks.

99 Cents Supermarket, through attorney Michael A. White, asked the Superior Court to order Micronesia Systems, Inc., the owner of Plumeria Resort, to pay the store $9,640 in principal sum plus interest.

Variety contacted Plumeria Resort yesterday, but no one was available for comment.

White alleged in the complaint that in separate incidents last year, Micronesia Systems issued checks drawn on the Bank of Hawaii payable to Hilario Guiao, Shuji Ishikawa, Dor Raj Shrestha, Raymond Santos and Yoon Ho Jin.

“Each of the checks was subsequently endorsed by the payee and negotiated at plaintiff’s place of business,” said White in the complaint.

The lawyer said his client deposited each of the checks into its bank account, but the checks were returned for insufficient funds.
