Pohela Boishakh 1416 will be celebrated at the Garapan Central Park starting from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Bangladesh Cultural Group president and event organizer Rakibul “Mintu” Islam is inviting the community to join them in the celebration.
Pohela Boishakh marks the first day of the Bengali calendar.
Islam said they will present cultural dances and songs to strengthen the bond among the Bangladeshis on island.
Dinner will be served during the program.
Islam said the children will make a special presentation.
A magic show will be among the highlights of the event, he added.
A week before the Bengali New Year, the Bangladeshi community held a volleyball competition that was participated by four teams representing three villages of Saipan.
The Fina Sisu team emerged the winner after defeating Garapan Red during the championship on Sunday.
The other teams were Garapan Green and San Antonio.
Islam said the Fina Sisu team will get its trophy today.
