(CHCC) — The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation is proud to announce that the CHC Hospital has received a positive outcome from its Recertification Survey conducted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The unannounced on-site survey, conducted from Aug. 4 to 8, 2025, confirmed that the hospital is in substantial compliance with the Conditions of Participation under 42 CFR 482.
The survey resulted in only one standard-level deficiency and no conditional-level or immediate jeopardy findings. Standard-level findings indicate minor areas where the hospital does not fully meet specific regulatory standards, but these issues do not pose an immediate threat to patient safety.
The CMS Recertification Survey is a rigorous review process designed to ensure that hospitals meet the federal requirements necessary to provide safe, high-quality care and remain eligible to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Substantial compliance demonstrates that the CHC Hospital continues to meet these important national standards.
“This positive result reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff, who remain committed to delivering safe, high-quality care for our patients and community,” said CHCC CEO Esther L. Muna. “Achieving compliance with CMS standards is not only a requirement for federal program participation, but more importantly, it reinforces our mission to provide trusted healthcare that meets national standards of safety and quality.”
While the survey identified one minor standard-level deficiency, CHCC has already initiated a corrective action plan to address it and strengthen services further. This process reflects CHCC’s ongoing commitment to quality improvement and transparency in healthcare delivery.
CHCC extends its appreciation to the hospital team, clinical providers, support staff, and leadership who collectively ensured adherence to these rigorous standards. CHCC remains focused on continuous improvement, patient-centered care, and upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.
