Muna said CUC did not include the airport in its ongoing load shedding schedule.
The utilities agency, he added, is ready to help the airport, but CPA has not asked the assistance of CUC, Muna said. “CPA doesn’t need CUC’s help right now,” he added.
According to Muna, CPA has its own maintenance crew that can look into the problems of its generators.
On Sunday midnight, a transformer blew up at a factory in As Terlaje, resulting in a power outage that affected the airport.
CUC said the incident happened at around 12:53 a.m., and lasted until 1:45 a.m.
The emergency required CUC to turn off Kiyas 1 and 2.
Kiya 1 covers Airport Road, Kanna Tabla, San Vicente, Lower Dandan and other areas, while Kiya 2 comprises Koblerville, As Gonno, San Antonio, and several communities.
