
THE Department of Public Safety responded to 92 criminal incidents, 22 traffic-related cases, and one distressed vessel incident from March 17 to 23.
According to the police blotter provided by DPS on Wednesday, of the 115 incidents, 57 were 911 service calls to the police.
Twelve individuals were arrested during the same period, DPS added.
Police responded to two assault incidents; six assault & battery incidents; three assault with a dangerous weapon incidents; three domestic violence incidents; 50 disturbing the peace incidents; one criminal mischief incident; three criminal trespass incidents; five child abuse/neglect incidents; three burglary incidents; and 16 theft incidents.
As for traffic incidents, DPS said it responded to 10 auto run-off incidents; three auto parked vehicle incidents; three auto hit and run incidents; one reckless driving incident; three driving under the influence incidents; and two auto fixed object incidents.
DPS boating safety responded to one distressed vessel incident.
DPS’ public information officer, Police Sgt. Fred Sato, said the statistics are based on calls made to 911 dispatchers and the responses from police officers.
“All active criminal complaints are taken, then forwarded to our Criminal Investigation Bureau. All traffic-related incidents, including fatality reported crashes, are forwarded to our Highway Patrol Investigation units,” Sato added.
