Eucon offers scholarship program to Saipan students

This, according to Vilma Reyes of Eucon International School, is part of the school’s effort to strengthen the community and part of the outreach programs of the Christian Bible Church.

Reyes said the scholarship is offered to deserving elementary and high school students.

To qualify, the applicant must be an indigenous student or resident of Saipan, must show an exceptional ability and potential in math, science and English and has an excellent academic standing.

Reyes said  if the applicant’s Grade Point Average is “A+ or 100,” the student will be entitled to a 50 percent scholarship on tuition fees.

A GPA of “A or 91-99” will entitle the applicant to a 40 percent scholarship on tuition fees, while a GPA of “A- or 90” will entitle the applicant for 30 percent scholarship on tuition fees.

The requirements for application are a birth certificate and proof of residence. Foreign students or students that need student visa are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Reyes said  applicants must come to the Eucon Business Office and fill out an application form. The applicants will then be invited with their parents for an interview, and if they meet all the requirements, the scholarship will be awarded.

Reyes said this will be done on a first come first serve basis.

“Classes will start on Aug. 9, but we have limited slots available, so we are urging Saipan residents to avail of this scholarship program now,” Reyes said.

The scholarship covers the tuition fees only. Registration fees, school uniforms and other miscellaneous expenses are not included.
