Members of the community can purchase the pre-selected items and drop at the donation boxes at Joeten Susupe, Triple J Super Fresh Market, Fleming’s Market on Tinian, student center and the president’s office at Northern Marianas College.
Program coordinator Geri Willis said the items that can be purchased are snacks which include rice crackers, dry mango, chicharon or pork rinds, asparagus biscuits, Bin Bin crackers; canned goods which include Vienna sausage, Diamond tuna, Ox & Palm corned beef and Spam; and other items like bowl noodle soup and Sapporo Ichiban soba.
Miscellaneous items that can be included in the care boxes are letters, cards and personal hygiene items.
Willis and the whole team is once again asking the community to submit the names and addresses of CNMI military personnel deployed overseas so that they will be included on the list and receive care packages for the holidays.
The servicemembers can be serving anywhere as long as they are on active duty.
Willis said they are looking at sending about 250 care packages for now, which they will pack on Nov. 26 at the multi-purpose center in Susupe.
Willis is urging everybody to “help spread the word and send us the names and addresses of servicemembers overseas.”
