Antonio Muna, who represents Li Xiang Ming of An Manufacturing, said they can meet the 65-decibel level requirement set by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration.
The hollow block machine’s expected noise generated within the enclosure is 96 to 210 decibels while the noise level from outside the enclosure will be from 84 to 93 decibels, he said.
But since the operation site is situated 50 to 75 feet from adjacent properties, Muna said they will meet the 65-decibel level requirement.
“We’ll not bring adversity to the area,” he added.
Zoning Board legal counsel Kate Fuller said they will have to revisit the area to determine the noise level.
Zoning Board Chairman Diego Blanco said they recently approved Am Manufacturing’s request to rezone the area from mixed commercial to industrial and the company’s conditional use permit application.
Businessman Joe Ayuyu lauded the board for allowing business establishments in the area.
“You have the foresight to turn dilapidated areas in to something useful to the community,” he added.
During a meeting, the Zoning Board said Am Manufacturing should comply with several conditions.
These include no parking of heavy equipment, cargo containers, and company vehicles on public right-of-way or along the street at any given time, and no parking of cargo containers in the premises beyond five days.
Tarpaulins should cover materials that contain dust which should be prevented from escaping beyond the property line.
Operating hours are from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5p.m., only.
