House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Ramon S. Basa, Covenant-Saipan, pre-filed last week House Concurrent Resolution 17-3, approving the revenue resources anticipated by Fitial.
Other lawmakers believe that the government’s actual collections will be much less than the governor’s projection.
Basa’s resolution also urges the governor to submit a report as soon as possible regarding any changes in the projected revenue.
The administration still has up to July 31 to change its budget proposal to reflect the continuous decline in government revenue.
A new and balanced budget must be passed on or before Oct. 1.
