Its Saipan’s turn to send students to Japan

The mayor’s office, which is coordinating the program with the International Youth Association of Japan or KSKK, needs 10 students from Saipan.

Last July, nine students with the KSKK visited Saipan.

Vinycia Seman, the mayor’s office executive secretary and program coordinator, said Saipan applicants should be 3rd to 8th grade students.

Applicants must have a valid U.S. passport, not to expire within six months while in Japan. Each must pay $546.06 for airfare by Sept. 16 and the amount is not refundable.

They must present a student clearance form filled out and approved by teachers and counselor and purchase travel insurance.

For more information,  call 235-7304 or visit the mayor’s office at the Afetna Complex in San Antonio.

Seman said  the 10 slots are available on first-come, first-served basis based on qualifications and ticket payments.
