WASHINGTON, D.C. (Office of the CNMI Congressional Delegate) — U.S. Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds on Tuesday applauded the bipartisan confirmation of former Congressman Doug Collins to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“Secretary Collins is very distinguished and well respected,” said Congresswoman King-Hinds. “He understands that the federal government must do more for our veterans. In the CNMI, we have a sizeable veteran population that is not receiving adequate care. They deserve better.”
“As a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I am excited to collaborate with him and the VA to help give veterans the care they so rightfully deserve,” she said.
Secretary Collins was confirmed by the U.S. Senate by a vote of 77-23.
Congresswoman King-Hinds looks forward to partnering with the Secretary to help give veterans better care.
