Fernando Ponciano Litulumar, 20, of Koblerville, pleaded guilty to assault and battery.
Associate Judge Perry B. Inos said Litulumar will start serving his sentence on May 20 at the Department of Corrections facility. Litulumar, who was represented by Assistant Public Defender Douglas Hartig, is expected to be released on May 30.
He will be placed on probation for the remainder of his suspended sentence after his release from prison.
The Attorney General’s Office, on Sept. 23, 2009, said Litulumar repeatedly slapped his victim in the face; banged her head against a tree and choked her; and pushed her forcibly up against a car and slapped her again.
The prosecution will determine the amount of restitution for Litulumar’s victim within 30 days. He will write a letter of apology for his victim and perform 100 hours of community work service. Moreover, he will undergo and complete counseling and any recommended treatment recommended by the Community Guidance Center.
Then-Assistant Attorney General Kathleen Busenkell prosecuted the case.
