Visiting Judge Mark W. Bennett of the Northern District of Iowa scheduled Bo Hu Li’s sentencing hearing for Feb. 22, 2011.
Li’s court-appointed defense counsel David Banes moved that the plea agreement be filed under seal. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Schuler, the prosecutor, did not object and the court granted the motion.
The prosecution said Li “knowingly distributed an unregistered pesticide by shipping several pounds of Lannate” when he travelled from China to Saipan on board Shanghai Airlines on or about Feb. 17, 2009.
Li was arrested last month, but posted $25,000 in unsecured bond and was released to a third party custodian.
