Man in ‘ice,’ gun cases signs plea agreement

Roque S. Norita a.k.a. Roy, 41, signed the plea agreement, admitting to the charge of possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet from a school with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

The plea agreement was filed in federal court on Wednesday.

Norita’s court-appointed attorney Bruce Berline and Assistant U.S. Attorney James J. Benedetto, who prosecuted the case,  signed the plea agreement.

Charges of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute on premises where a minor child resides, and use of a firearm during and relation to a drug trafficking crime,  are  to be dismissed.

Norita’s co-defendant is Julita A. Sablan who will appear in the federal court for her final pretrial conference.
