Matua Riders looking forward to serve community

The members of the new bikers group first met on Jan. 14 to come up with a name and a logo design.

Everyone submitted their ideas.

“So we voted on the proposed names and logo designs,” said Jess Songao Santos, secretary and treasurer of the group.

The other officers of the Matua Riders group are Edward A. Flores, president; Vince B. Lizama, vice president; Edward W. Camacho and Edgard Tudor, advisers.

It was Lizama whose proposed name for the group received the most votes.

The group wants to serve the community, Santos said.

“We will do service for the community. We will lawn the yard of the public library and do that as well for the church. We’ll also do volunteer work and give out donations,” he added.

All members are  scheduled to get the H1N1 vaccine this month at the Commonwealth Health Center.

The Matua Riders group has over 40 members.
