McDonald’s Saipan donates $3K to Green Meadow School project

McDonald’s Saipan president and owner Joe Ayuyu said     it has always been his wish to help schools, but as the economy is tight, they are doing their best to help in any way they can by making donations to one school at a time.

“We know the schools need cash for their various projects, and we are happy to help the schools because they are helping the community in educating the children,” Ayuyu said.

McDonald’s Saipan gives top priority to education and has been active in supporting schools and teachers for the past years.

“This is a very timely donation, our advance Thanksgiving gift to the school for all the blessings we received,” Ayuyu said.

Green Meadow School president Milagros Merjilla thanked McDonald’s Saipan for its support.

“We are concerned about the health and safety of the children. We want them to be sheltered during the rain and walk on a paved walkway from the drop-off area,” Merjilla said.

She said they plan to start the construction of the waiting shed and the paving of the walkway during the Thanksgiving break on October 25.

“We hope to have the project finished by the start of next month,” she said.

Green Meadow School principal Marlyn T. Divino expressed her gratitude to McDonald’s Saipan for being always a staunch supporter of their school for the past years.

In June last year, Green Meadow School received $2,300 from McDonald’s Saipan fundraising event. The money was used to construct the school stage.
