New books, materials at Joeten-Kiyu Public Library

For the last week of March, the  library added to its collection Entertainment Weekly magazines, Journal of Advanced Materials, and Dirt Bike magazines, as well as fiction and biographies including “The Gift of Fire” by Dan Caro and Steve Erwin, “Worst Case” by James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge, and “Kisser” by Staurt Woods.

In April, the library acquired over 80 new materials including magazines and reference magazines, biographies, fiction and adult non-fiction, books on travel, plumbing, architecture, sports, reference books, children’s magazines and CNMI educational magazines.

These new acquisitions were published from 2006 to 2010 and cover a wide range of subject areas. For a full listing of the new library materials, visit  www.cnmilibrary.com.

To date, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library has a collection of 56,556 books and 949 DVDs. The library has 33,285 members or library card holders.

Library executive director John O. Gonzales once again encourages the community to come to the library and read books.

“If you cannot come to the library, we will come to you and we encourage you to take advantage of the Bookmobile mini-library services,” Gonzales said.

The Bookmobile carries over a thousand books from fiction, non-fiction, materials for adults and children and visits different areas:

Tuesday – Tanapag Elementary School, 2-3 p.m.

GTC Elementary School, 3-4:30 p.m.

Wednesday – Kagman Juvenile Detention Facility, 3-4 p.m.

DYS/DCCA Shelter, 4-5 p.m.

Thursday-Tanapag Elementary School, 2-3 p.m.

G.T.C. Elementary School, 3-4:30 p.m.

Friday – Koblerville Elementary School, 1-3 p.m.

Kagman Community Center, 5-6:30 p.m.

Saturday – Tanapag Youth Center, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library is open from Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library is closed on Sunday and Monday, and during holidays. For more information, call 235-7322.
